Following on from the huge success of Polmaily House as an exclusive use self- catering holiday home, we are delighted to announce that we are now able to offer golfing holidays in the birthplace of golf, Scotland. Not only will you stay at one of the Highlands’ most historic country homes, but you will also enjoy some of the finest golf to be found anywhere in the world.
It was no real surprise that in November, 2022, at the World Golf Awards, Scotland was awarded the ultimate accolade of, ‘Best Golf Destination in the World’. This award, and the accompanying, ‘Best Golf Destination in Europe’ award, both acknowledge and celebrate the quality of Scotland as a golfing destination. Widely regarded as the, ‘Home of Golf’, Scotland has 614 courses to play, including a rich variety of courses here in the Highlands. Locally, we are very fortunate to boast a fascinating, challenging and diverse range of courses to ensure a wonderful golfing experience for all abilities.
At Polmaily House we can offer you and your golfing buddies a tailor-made stay at our historic 300 year old Highland home on either a self-catering or fully catered basis. We can even arrange club hire for you. You can pick and choose from a range of courses and add in other activities too if you wish. The choice is yours. Here’s some of the wonderful golf and excursions on offer:- Castle Stuart Golf Links – (18 & 9 holes) a four time host of the Scottish Open and ranked 60th . best golf course in the world.
The Nairn Golf Club – (18 & 9 holes) Firmly on the golfing map and host to The Walker cup, Curtis Cup and the 2021 Scottish Amateur Championships.
Muir of Ord Golf Club – (18 holes) A challenging course, voted Best Golf Course in Scotland in 2016.
Inverness Golf Course – (18 holes) Located in the heart of the Highland capital. A splendid parkland course established in 1883.
Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Links – (18 holes) The 15 th. oldest recorded golf club in the world (1793). Voted as Scotland’s Best Golfing Experience at the Scottish Golf Tourism Awards 2017 & 2018.
Aigas Golf Club – (9 holes) A real local gem. Situated in a beautiful glen along the banks of the Beauly river. A truly captivating Highland experience.
Inverness driving range – get into the swing with the most up to date golf technology – Top Tracer.
As well as these excellent golfing treats, visitors could also enjoy other local attractions such as a distillery tour, a private cruise on Loch Ness, a visit to the Loch Ness Visitor Centre or a tour of Urquhart Castle, Quiz Night, Cinema Night etc. The options are
almost endless.
Polmaily House has 12 bedrooms of varying sizes including 4 family rooms. There is plenty to do on site if you were to travel with family members who might not play golf. Equally, we can cater for a group of all golfers.
