Polmaily House is a beautiful historic home built by the Grant clan back in the late 1720’s, making it nearly 300 years old. As a former hotel in a previous life, Polmaily House is unique in being able to offer so many facilities to its guests, including exclusive use of the heated indoor swimming pool, tennis court, private cinema room, undercover games area, karaoke, croquet lawn and brown trout fishing pond – to name but a few. There is so much to keep even the most active happy and that’s even before you have left the 6 acre site. Nearby there are beautiful glens to explore, amazing wildlife, historic castles, championship golf courses, plentiful whisky distilleries, wild swimming in beautiful lochs, wonderful cycling routes, great fishing. The list is almost exhaustive and there is certainly something for everyone. You might even be the next person to spot Nessie!
The Big House can comfortably accommodate around 26 guests sleeping in 12 bedrooms (31 beds), 11 of which are en-suite and four are two room family suites. We have included a plan of the house to help you allocate rooms. We are also dog friendly. The house comes fully equipped with everything that you could possibly need to make your stay a truly memorable one.
Unlike most other venues our house offers the flexibility for you and your friends and family to sit together at our large dining table but also offers the space to find quiet nooks and crannies maybe for a read with a wee dram! Guests usually cook their own meals in the well-equipped kitchen but several outside catering options are available and we can help you with this. It really is a rarity to find a property which provides everything that Polmaily House has to offer and this has been echoed in the reviews of all our previous guests.
Hosts, Chris & Deb, are happy to help plan your trip and help with ideas for your stay. Quizzes, treasure hunts, pool parties, cocktail tasting, croquet, karaoke, bagpipe lessons, Highland Games are some of the popular activities, but the list of possible activities is almost endless. An evening meal or an afternoon tea could also be arranged for guests (at an additional charge).
