Is Polmaily House dog friendly?

Yes, we accept well behaved dogs but ask that they are kept downstairs. There is a small charge of £20 per dog to cover any additional cleaning.

What facilities does Polmaily House offer?

We have a great many facilities here at Polmaily House. Outside we have tennis, football, badminton, croquet, basketball plus lots of small bikes for children and a 16ft enclosed trampoline. We also have a heated indoor swimming pool and a games room with pool table, table football, darts and table tennis. We also have some equipment for a mini–Highland Games if needed. Indoors we have plenty of board games, a karaoke machine and the indoor Cinema Room.

Is the house easy to access for elderly/disabled visitors?

Unfortunately, we do not have any ground floor bedrooms. However, all the communal rooms downstairs are easy to access.

Do you allow hen/stag parties at Polmaily?

We do allow hen parties at the house but not stag sorry- unless the group is of a more mature age group.

Can we organise a big shop to be dropped off at the house via a supermarket?

Tesco, Asda and Morrisons do deliver to the house, and we are happy to accept your delivery if you can only get a slot for a time before your arrival.

Can you recommend some outside caterers that we might use for the one night for a special meal or an afternoon tea?

We can help with this if required. Please contact us direct and we can give you some names and numbers to help you organise a special meal.

Does the kitchen have the crockery, pots pans etc, to make big meals for our group?

The kitchen is fully equipped with enough plates, cutlery big pots and dishes etc to allow you to cater for your group if you wish to cook yourselves.

Can we walk to the village from the property?

The village is not that far away, but the first stretch does not have a pavement, so it is not advisable to walk into Drumnadrochit, especially at night as the last stretch also does not have street lighting.

Are there any local taxi companies that can take us to a local place if we are all dropped off for our stay in a coach?

There is only one taxi firm in the village, and it is just a normal size car, so for groups it is hard to organise transport once you are here. We advise, if possible that you bring your own cars so that you can get out and about during your stay.

Do you provide towels for the pool?

Pool towels are provided in the rooms along with the bathroom towels, so no need to bring your own.

Are there any floats available to use in the pool?

We do have some floats/pool toys, but if you have a specific idea for the pool such as a pool party it might be advisable to bring some additional ones along. There is a pump available to blow them up.

Do other people have use of the facilitates during our stay?

Other people cannot use the facilities during your stay- the whole house and grounds are exclusively for your use.

How many people can stay in total at Polmaily House?

There are a total of 31 beds in the house, but due to the nature of how groups are made up, this normally works out at between 25-28 guests here during a stay. If you look at the floorplan on the accommodation page this will help you allocate the rooms for your guests.

Do you have any highchairs or travel cots available?

We have two highchairs and two travel cots available should you need them.

Do babies count in the numbers?

Babies do have to count in the total number of guests staying due to insurance and license conditions.

Is there parking available on the property for multiple cars as we are all coming separately?

There is parking at the front of the house and additional parking to the rear of the house so plenty of parking for everyone staying at the house.

Can we check in early to get the house ready before the birthday person/hen arrives to decorate?

Check in time is 4pm but we will do our best to accommodate an early check in if needed. This may not always be possible because we want to ensure that the house is fully prepared for your stay.

Is there any way that we can get a keg of beer delivered to the property?

We have links to the Cairngorm Brewery who will deliver kegs to the house for us. This does have to be prearranged and paid for directly to the brewery. This is a handdrawn pump and has approx. 88 pints.

Are there board games, other things to do at the house or should we bring our own?

We have lots of board games available at the house- under the TV in the fireplace lounge.

Can the cinema room play films through our own Netflix account or is it just DVD’s?

The cinema room has a huge selection of DVD’s available and we ensure that we regularly buy new releases to continue to update our stock. We also have an X-Box. Netflix is not always reliable sorry.

Do you have a place that we can charge our electric car?

We do not have a special charging point at the house but you can plug into power in the shed around the back of the house. We do ask for a payment of £15 to charge the car due to the high cost of electricity.
